World AIDS Day Links

>> World AIDS Day
Avert is an informative, well-designed, and very user-friendly site with all kinds of information and activities related to HIV/AIDS.  It tends to be geared particularly towards youth, and uses fairly non-technical language and lots of real-life stories.  Avert’s World AIDS Day page lists several things readers can do to participate, including playing their new AIDS Challenge game.

This site has information and ideas for participation.  It is based in — and largely geared toward — the UK,  but it has some good stuff for people in other areas as well.

>> 2008 World AIDS Day Statements
This UNAIDS page displays statements from a number of leaders in global AIDS efforts, including UNAIDS Executive Director Peter Piot, directors from UNESCO and UNFPA, UN Special Envoy Elizabeth Mataka, UNAIDS Special Representative Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Global Fund Executive Director Michel Kazatchkine, and others.
