How to support a good cause without even trying (for free!)
I just found out about this yesterday, thanks to a comment from kouji haiku. This is brilliant:
Here’s a new easy way to raise money for your favorite cause. Just start using GoodSearch.com as your search engine, and they’ll donate a penny to your favorite cause every time you do a search! In addition, do your online shopping through GoodShop.com, where you can shop at more than 700 top online retailers and a percentage of your purchases will go to the charity or school of your choice. You pay the same price as you normally would, but a donation goes to your cause!
Here’s the web site — http://www.goodsearch.com. You can also learn about GoodSearch from the NY Times, CNN, ABC News, the Wall Street Journal, and more.
GoodSearch is set up to support over 67,000 charities, schools, churches and other community and philanthropic organizations, and new ones are being added constantly. (You can easily pick a group to support, and change whenever you wish. Right now, I have my GoodSearch set to fund the International Justice Mission.)
It’s easy to download the GoodSearch toolbar — it took me all of about a minute to set up. You can find instructions, and lots more ways to support GoodSearch, here.
