New CDC pages on HIV/AIDS and Latinos

The CDC has recently added a new topic to the HIV/AIDS section of its website, featuring facts and statistics on HIV/AIDS among the United States’s Hispanic/Latino population.  It notes,

The HIV/AIDS epidemic is a serious threat to the Hispanic/Latino community. In addition to being a population seriously affected by HIV, Hispanics/Latinos continue to face challenges in accessing health care, prevention services, and HIV treatment. In 2005, HIV/AIDS was the fourth leading cause of death among Hispanic/Latino men and women aged 35 to 44.

The Hispanics/Latinos topic page has links to more on Prevention Challenges, What the CDC Is Doing, What Hispanics/Latinos Can Do, Resources, a Bibliography, and more Links.

For a quick overview, you can look at the CDC’s Fact Sheet on HIV/AIDS among Hispanics/Latinos (also viewable as a PDF).

I’ve posted several times about HIV/AIDS in this population.  If you’re interested in reading more, click here, or use the Search Site fuction on the sidebar.
