More Health Workers Needed to Fight AIDS: Experts (Reuters)
One topic being widely dicussed at the conference is the urgent need for more healthcare workers in the developing world.

Researchers Look to Daily Pill to Avert H.I.V. (Lawrence K. Altman, New York Times)
Recent disappointments in vaccine and microbicide studies have given greater impetus to research into whether taking antiretroviral medication can keep HIV-negative individuals from becoming infected.  Researchers in many countries are starting trials to see if this strategy — called pre-exposure prophylaxis or PrEP — can reduce new HIV infections.
