Response to “Post” article on AIDS among Latinos

A post from last week talked about a Washington Post article on HIV/AIDS among the US Latino population.  Today the Post published a letter to the editor from Jane L. Delgado, the President and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, disputing some of the article’s statements.

Delgado argues that high rates of HIV/AIDS are nothing new in the Hispanic community, and that Hispanic leaders have long been dealing with the problem, despite an “inadequate response” from the CDC and US health system.  She also said the article should not have focused so heavily on immigrants, “as most Hispanics with AIDS are U.S.-born.”

I just thought I’d mention this as a sort of follow-up.
