NN: text4test? HIV/AIDS U? AIDS xchg!

I definitely had too much fun coming up with that title.  Blame the first story…it inspired me.  (It’s still a cool story though.)

New Vision (allAfrica.com) (July 27): A pilot project in Uganda used text message ads and free give-aways to raise the number of people going in for voluntary counselling and testing.

The Citizen (allAfrica.com) (July 28): Beginning in October, researchers will study the impact of HIV/AIDS on 18 universities, 6 each in Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.

The New Times (allAfrica) (July 28): A group of American teens are participating in a “girls’ exchange program” with a group of Rwandan teens.  The NGO leading the program hopes to help the girls learn about HIV/AIDS issues, especially prevention, in each other’s countries.  The broader goal is to get teens involved in AIDS efforts.
