NN: new and coming developments

The Monitor (allAfrica.com) (July 24), Business Day (allAfrica.com) (July 23), Reuters (July 22): These articles discuss trials that will test the use of ARVs as a method of HIV prevention.

Kaiser Network (July 23): The CDC will report new estimates on HIV incidence in the United States on August 3, in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Kaiser Network (July 23): The International AIDS Conference announced some of the key speakers for the upcoming event in Mexico City.  The list includes Mexican President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, WHO Director-General Margaret Chan, UNAIDS Executive Director Peter PIot, and former US President Bill Clinton.

Kaiser Network (July 23) : The Fiji Australia Business Council and UNAIDS have announced plans to develop a “business coalition in Fiji to strengthen the private sector’s response to HIV/AIDS.”

New Vision (allAfrica.com) (July 22): Janet Museveni, the first lady of Uganda, is launching a film that “aims at presenting the conflict between the behavioural change model and the sexual rights model in the prevention of HIV/AIDS.”
